Our Most Recent House and Pet Sitting
You will be exceedingly pleased with Jonathan and Lily. They are very special people.
We can tell you that we would recommend them not only without hesitation but with enthusiasm. They are well-traveled, intelligent, energetic, and most of all caring for our animals and treat our home as if it were their own.
While we were away, we received text messages nearly every day describing life at home. It was comforting to know that our animals were being so well cared for. The cute pictures they would include made the updates even more precious, as we really missed our dogs.
They took care of the property like it was their own and we had no concerns regarding valuables. The house was cleaner than I’d left it, little problems had been brainstormed and sorted out in our absence, and many details other house sitters might miss had all been taken care of. They also left us a meal we could warm up upon our late night return.
They went above and beyond what is expected of a house/pet sitter. My neighbors met and were impressed with their diligence walking our pups. I felt they treated our home and our 2 dogs as if they were their own. That kind of peace of mind is so important when leaving your home and animals in the care of someone else.
I have always been very anxious about leaving our two dogs when we go on holiday but knowing it is Jonathan and Lily looking after them makes me so at ease and relaxed knowing they will be looked after so well. The dogs absolutely love Lily and Jonathan, they are always so happy and relaxed which is quite remarkable seeing one of our dogs can be very anxious with others.
It has been our pleasure to have Lily and Jonathan tend to our animals and home on at least six occasions over the last couple of years.
The only downside- Our dogs are a little depressed when they leave. But we reassured them that Jonathan and Lily will be back.

This is a letter of recommendation for Lily and Jonathan Ogden who spent a week in May 2019 at Angloville in Hungary, where they volunteered for a total of 70 hours each at one of our English- language immersion programmes.
It can be a difficult and, at times, challenging role, and both Lily and Jonathan approached it with great enthusiasm and passion. It is critical that our volunteers have a positive attitude and are patient, understanding and able to work independently. Lily and Jonathan possess all these qualities and showed an ability to make learning English easy for other people.
It was our pleasure to have had the Ogden’s as volunteers at our programme, and I know they approach any opportunity with confidence.

I’ve known Jonathan Ogden since about 2013. My wife and I both worked with him at Xiangjiang High School in Guangzhou, China.
Although I was an experienced instructor when I met Dr. Ogden, I learned an amazing amount from him during our time together. He has a special knack for building student confidence, and always found ways to instill real-life values such as responsibility, integrity, and self-respect.
Jonathan is also very approachable. Many of our students were nervous and shy at first, but even the most reserved were active participants after only a few weeks of classes.
Honestly, Dr. Ogden is one of the finest teachers I have ever had the pleasure of working with.

While Lily did not have teaching responsibilities she interacted with students at social activities and outside of the classroom. The students found her to be kind, warm and understanding.
Since Lily’s mother tongue is Cantonese and Mandarin, she was able to explain many English idioms and customs in the student’s native tongue. Lily was also an asset to the students because she moved to Canada over 40 years ago speaking limited English. She was a role model that if they spent time in practice and interacting in English, they too would acquire the language.
Lily is a very approachable person. Many students spent time with her because they knew she would understand their struggles with the language.

It was my privilege to get to know and work with Lily and Jonathan. I found them to be very personable, easy to talk to and responsible. It was my pleasure to have them on our Angloville team in Wroclaw Poland.
Angloville is a unique conversational English language program that brings local professionals together with Native English speakers in a weeklong intensive exchange and interaction. The goal of the professional is to develop and feel more competent in their English-speaking abilities.
We rely heavily on volunteers to provide opportunities for group and individual conversational interaction that is encouraging and supportive of our language learners. Volunteers must be committed to showing up and being an active participant.
Lily and Jonathan quickly developed a rapport with participants and other volunteers. They were reliable and enthusiastic in their involvement. You could tell by watching them that they were service oriented and took their responsibilities seriously.
I hope they will return and be a part of another one of my Angloville programs. I highly recommend Lily and Jonathan, as I know they will be as dedicated and responsible in their house/pet sitting. You can rest assured that they are reliable, people of integrity and have warm personalities that put you at ease immediately.
